Introduction

This seminar focuses on procedural changes resulting from:

1. the High Court Amendment Rules 2003, which came into force on 24 November 2003 – attached at appendix one;
2. the District Courts Amendment Act 2002, which came into force on 24 November 2003 – attached at appendix two;
3. the High Court Fees Amendment Regulations 2003, which came into force on 24 November 2003;
4. the High Court Amendment Rules (No 2) 2003, which came into force on 1 January 2004;
5. the Court of Appeal (Civil) Amendment Rules 2003, which came into force on 1 January 2004.

As well, proposed rule changes due to come into effect during 2004 will be discussed.
