Section 15 of the Property (Relationships) Act 1976 allows for one party to be compensated if the income and living standards of the other party are likely to be significantly higher due to the division of functions in the relationship. Section 21 agreements, whether to contract out or to settle disputes under the Act, continue to be commonplace. Often these Agreements require a substantial degree of input, knowledge and “crystal ball gazing” on the part of practitioners who want to ensure that the agreements withstand the test of time. End of Life Choice Act - 1 CPD hours

The End of Life Choice Act 2019 gives people experiencing unbearable suffering from a terminal illness the option of legally requesting medical assistance to end their lives. The Act comes into force on 6 November 2021.

This module will discuss the Act and provide medical and legal perspectives on it, as well as highlight existing advance care planning options when advising about end-of-life matters. This will help you ensure that your clients are safeguarded with advice and guidance in what will very likely be extremely difficult circumstances.
