Since the Trusts Act 2019 (the Trusts Act) came into force in January 2021, numerous charities are reviewing their trust deeds and in many cases seeking to update them. This webinar will consider common variations being made, the availability of s 130 of the Trusts Act to effect variations in circumstances where there is no variation power, when a potential variation could take place under the Trusts Act, and when the Charitable Trusts Act 1957 should be used instead.

This webinar will address:

  • Common variations being made to charitable trust deeds
  • When to use a variation power and when to apply to the High Court
  • The more appropriate route when applying to the High Court.
