Introduction
These brief notes are obviously not a comprehensive treatment of what is a large and complex subject matter. They have been prepared for seminar purposes and for the sake of brevity will contain generalisations without indicating where exceptions exist. Furthermore, emphasis has been placed on those aspects likely to be of most interest to the general practitioner whilst other (no less important) areas of the law may have received scant attention.
