From the chair

Tēnā koutou,

More than just about any other area of the law, relationship property lawyers must have expertise across a very broad range. They must know not only the PRA but also the law of various asset-holding structures and property types. Practitioners can be involved in some of the largest financial claims within the New Zealand legal system and must have the skills to deal with individuals who are under intense pressure. They will need to deal with experts from a wide range of other fields – including accountants, banks, real estate agents and overseas lawyers. And they must disentangle their clients from the past with an eye to setting them up for the future.

This programme recognises that range and brings together expert relationship property lawyers with leading lawyers from other fields; accountants, mediators and former judicial officers. All will be able to provide useful and practical perspectives on relationship property that you can use to enhance your advice and provide a more comprehensive service for your clients. I hope you can join us.

Chair: Isaac Hikaka, Mills Lane Chambers, Auckland
