Fast-track Approvals Act 2024 - a review after 10 months

Starts: Thursday 13 November 2025, 10.40am – 11.25am CPD hours: 0.75 Format: Online

The Fast-track Approvals Act 2024 (FTAA) was designed to accelerate infrastructure and development projects that deliver significant national or regional benefits. But how effective has it been?

Broadcast live from the Environmental Law Conference, Jennifer Caldwell will share key insights and reflections from the first 10 months.

What you’ll learn:
  • How traditional practice associated with statutory approvals is evolving in response to the FTAA
  • Why the expectations of all participants in FTAA processes need to evolve alongside practice changes.

Learning objectives

By attending this session you will:

  • Gain an overview of the fast-track consenting route for projects with regional or national benefits.
  • Consider how the FTAA may fit with future RMA reform and what ongoing changes might mean for you and your clients.

Who should attend

This session will benefit those working in administrative/public, commercial, in-house, insurance, property, resource management, and real estate practice areas who want to stay ahead of the latest developments in Fast-track consenting and environmental approvals.
