The session will cover the main differences between the previous version of the guidelines (released in 2013) and the new guidelines, and include a discussion about the process of making prosecution decisions. This webinar will be relevant to anyone involved in prosecution decision making, as well as prosecutors and defence counsel.

Prior to joining the bar in February 2025, Charlotte was Senior Crown Counsel in the Criminal Group at the Crown Law Office, where she had been conducting appeals on behalf of the Crown in the Court of Appeal and Supreme Court since 2010. Before that, she worked as a Crown Prosecutor in both Palmerston North and Wellington, conducting jury trials in the District and High Courts. Charlotte led the project to review the prosecution guidelines while she was at Crown Law.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

You may cancel your registration eight working days in advance of an event, and you will receive a refund less a 25% administration fee. If you cancel less than eight working days in advance of the event, no refund is payable. If you are unable to attend, you may transfer your registration to another person. If you wish to do so you must advise CLE New Zealand Law Society in writing of the change. CLE reserves the right to close registrations, and cancel or reschedule an event as necessary. Where an event is cancelled by CLE, a full refund is payable.
