Costs in Civil Litigation
Add to CPD Planner

Costs are an issue which invariably confronts almost every civil litigator, and although they are considered in virtually every case, they continue to pose unexpected and, at times, difficult questions. This webinar will include:

  • Guidance on applications for indemnity costs and for reduced costs
  • Consideration of the relevance of actual costs against scale costs (when indemnity costs are not payable)
  • Consideration of some of the practical implications when security for costs are required
  • An outline of Sanderson and Bullock orders; what these are and when they can be used
  • A brief discussion regarding enforcement of costs awards, particularly on interlocutory applications
  • Practical tips on applications for costs.
