In 2012, the Ministry of Justice undertook a review of the disbursement policy for legal aid providers. As a result of this review, a new disbursements policy will come into force on 5 November 2012 and supersedes all previous policies.
The policy applies to applications for legal aid received on or after 5 November 2012.
The policy will also apply to amendments to grants for all applications received prior to 5 November 2012. There will be no change to disbursements for existing grants unless an amendment to a grant is made.
