  • Understand the nature of leadership influence as a way of being, thinking and acting
  • Gain an understanding of exactly what your current sources of influence are and how to use these more effectively
  • How to strengthen your impact as an influencer
  • How to communicate in a manner that brings others with you and inspires them to give their best
  • How to apply simple tips, tools and tactics for influence in a manner that is authentically you.

Dear Leader,
A common definition of leadership looks something the following:

Leadership is the process of influencing others to understand and agree about what needs to be done and how it can be done effectively, and the process of facilitating individual and collective efforts to accomplish the shared objectives.1

The key part of the definition, for our purposes, is the fact that the process of influencing is central to successful leadership. Influence itself can be understood more clearly as:

The ability to affect another’s attitudes, beliefs of behaviors – seen only in its effect – without using coercion or formal position, and in a way that the influencees believe that they are acting in their own best interests.2

The purpose of this workbook is to help you reflect on your leadership as the basis for better understanding your opportunities for being more influential.

To make the most of this guide, take some time to complete the sections and then reflect on the material prior to the Leadership and Influence webinar.

I hope you enjoy the preparation material and I look forward to talking to you on the webinar.
