From the Chair

You are asking yourself “why should I be interested in attending this forum?”. We ask:

  • Are you the best employer you can be?
  • Is your workplace a safe, positive and sustainable one?
  • Are you attracting and retaining the staff you want?
  • Can your law firm adapt to meet the challenges of the future?

Your employees are your greatest asset and attracting and retaining them can be one of your biggest headaches in business. You want your law firm to continue to be successful and thrive in the future.

Gen Ys, Millennials, and the next wave, Gen Zs and iGens, have very different expectations and wants from Baby Boomers and creating a workplace that works both for you and them can be very challenging. A greater demand for flexible working, family time, gym time – more work/life balance is becoming a feature of the legal profession, and balancing this with sustained productivity and professionalism requires us to be adaptable and open minded.

Communities in New Zealand are now far more diverse than ever before and having your law firm reflect the face of your community is essential if you wish to attract and retain a diverse client base.

This forum brings together a group of highly experienced and successful practitioners who have grown successful practices and teams, and have dealt with many of these challenges. The presenters will openly discuss the issues and share their experience and offer practical advice to help you be the best employer that you can be.

This great day will inspire you and we look forward to seeing you there.
