Barrister, FortyEight Shortland Barristers
Mark is a Barrister and Arbitrator at FortyEight Shortland Barristers, Auckland. He has over 25 years’ experience advising and representing clients in significant civil and commercial disputes. Mark has a particular focus and expertise in the construction, infrastructure and property sectors. Mark is a leading arbitration practitioner. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK), and is an arbitration panel member of a number of arbitral institutions, including the New Zealand Dispute Resolution Centre. Mark’s experience includes ad hoc arbitration, and arbitration under various institutional rules. In 2019 Mark was appointed to the Panel of Arbitrators of the New Zealand Law Society. Amongst other roles, he is the current convenor of the ADLS Property Disputes Committee, Member of the Society of Construction Law, and is a former Council Member of the Arbitrators’ & Meditators’ Institute of New Zealand.
Barrister, Bankside Chambers
Anna is a commercial arbitrator, adjudicator and barrister at Bankside Chambers, with particular expertise in international arbitration and public international law. She spent a number of years working in international arbitration in London and has more recently worked closely with Sir David Williams QC. Anna is a contributing author to Williams & Kawharu on Arbitration, teaches international arbitration at the University of Auckland and holds a PhD in international law from the University of Cambridge. She is a Fellow and Council Member of the Arbitrators’ and Mediators’ Institute of New Zealand (AMINZ) and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK). Anna also sits on a number of arbitral panels, including AMINZ, the New Zealand Dispute Resolution Centre and the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (reserve panel).
