From the Chair
We live in challenging and complicated times in many aspects of our lives. Trust law is no different. The Trusts Act 2019 has now been in effect for more than two years and there have been a number of surprises arising from it, adding to an ever-changing area of the law. It is essential that all lawyers throughout New Zealand who work in the areas of trusts, estates,
property, and relationship property understand what the current problems and trends are and how they will affect our advice and practices over the coming years.
I encourage you to attend the 2023 Trusts Conference which will provide key information on how to navigate these challenging times and continue to build on the successful biennial conferences which have been run by NZLS CLE for many years.
I look forward to seeing you at the conference.
