From the Chair

Tena tatau katoa,

Not so long ago legal discussions about Māori business typically focused on structure types, Māori land law, Treaty of Waitangi settlements and tax. These areas remain important. However, as we have developed a broader understanding of Māori business, and as Māori business has become more complex and sophisticated, it has become apparent that any legal discussion must cover a much broader range of topics. This conference aims to give insights into the rapidly developing world of Māori business while also covering some of those topics we are more accustomed to seeing. We are grateful to the great range of speakers who have volunteered their time and expertise to this kaupapa. We hope there will be value in the sessions for practitioners of all levels.

Chair: Matanuku Mahuika
