The national course Stepping Up replaces the various local Flying Start courses. Stepping Up, which is a major building block in the Society’s competence and professional development programme, will assist candidates to:
Note Currently, Stepping Up is not a compulsory prerequisite for lawyers applying to be barristers sole. However, we strongly recommend lawyers intending to practise as barristers sole complete the course. This is because the course is aimed at ensuring lawyers are properly prepared to practise on their own, which involves running their own business. If you do not complete the Stepping Up course before applying to practise on own account as barrister sole then you will need to complete the course before being able to practise on own account as a barrister and solicitor. Course Director: John Mackintosh, Consultant, Christchurch Fee (incl GST) Workshop: Stepping Up Programme July-November 2012 $1,400 Do you want to register more than one person for this course?
