IntroductionThe effects of the exercise of power by public entities and decision-makers are wide-ranging. Equally, there are a broad range of statutory and common law mechanisms in place that provide remedies in the event that an exercise of public power is unfair or unlawful. Many of the public law mechanisms that are available are not, however, used as effectively as they might be. Litigation should only be neccessary if a purpose-designed public law remedy is not available or does not achieve all that is sought. This seminar looks at the whole suite of public law mechanisms and remedies. |
