Rural Property Issues Intensive 2012![]() From the Chair The 2012 Rural Property Intensive, sponsored by ASB Bank Limited is designed to assist lawyers who wish to develop and enhance their skills in advising the agricultural sector. The important contribution the agricultural sector makes to New Zealand cannot be underestimated. New Zealand farmers and agri-corporates continue to demonstrate their versatility in the face of environmental and economic challenges as well as the ability to change and grow in an increasingly changing national and world economic environment and we can justifiably claim to lead the world in safe and sustainable food production. Lawyers specialising in advising agricultural families, corporates and commercial entities are advising a sector that is increasingly becoming more complex, and capital intensive. The requirements of financiers, co-operatives and the myriad of complex legislation that applies to this sector have increased year upon year as have the demands and expectations this places on practitioners. I encourage all practitioners with a genuine interest in the agricultural sector to attend and contribute to this intensive. I look forward to seeing you in Wellington in March.
